Darwin Lookingbill has extensive legal experience in both private practice and the public sector. Prior to joining Kretsch & Gust, he spent fifteen years as the Director of the Civil Division of the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office, where he was responsible for advising the Ramsey County Board and various County departments on a variety of legal issues involving all aspects of County government. He also managed litigation and was responsible for risk management, insurance and other issues. Before joining the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office, Darwin was a partner with Oppenheimer, Wolff & Donnelly, where he focused his practice on complex financial litigation. His clients included accounting firms, banks, brokerage firms, insurance carriers, corporations and boards of directors. Darwin is currently practicing in the areas of mediation and dispute resolution, municipal law, tax litigation and professional liability.
Mr. Lookingbill graduated from Stanford Law School and has an undergraduate degree in economics from Drake University. He is a Minnesota Supreme Court Qualified Neutral and is a member of the ADR section of the Minnesota State Bar Association. He has appeared regularly in state and federal courts, including the Minnesota Supreme Court and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.
