Mitchell King is an Associate Attorney with the firm. Mitch practices in various areas of law, counseling individuals and business owners with entity formation and start-ups, general business matters, real estate transactions, bankruptcy, debt negotiations and work-outs, and asset protection & estate planning. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Real Property Section, the Minnesota State Bar Association, and the Hennepin County Bar Association.
Mitch earned his Juris Doctorate from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota. He received recognition for volunteering over 100 hours during law school with Minnesota Justice Foundation. While in law school he studied abroad in Malta and conducted an independent legal research project travelling to Rwanda, Africa. He took breaks from studying to play hockey for the WMCL club team the Fighting Eelpouts.
A native of Northern Minnesota, growing up in Duluth, Mitch hungered for the warmer and big city climes of Chicago (along with the opportunity to continue playing hockey). So for college he ventured to Lake Forest, Illinois and obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and graduated Cum Laude from Lake Forest College. During college, Mitch played varsity hockey and was President of his fraternity Delta Chi.
Prior to joining Kretsch & Gust, PLLC, Mitch was an attorney at BenePartum Law Group, P.A.
When outside his office he enjoys playing hockey, biking, tennis, playing Scrabble with his wife, Ali, and walking the Minneapolis lakes and rivers with his son Levi. Mitch and Ali recently sold their condo in downtown Minneapolis and will be moving to Minnetonka so Levi has a yard to play.
